A water pipeline burst in Mumbai's Bandra has once again damaged the road near Lucky Junction, affecting the traffic movement on SV Road.

A section of road at Lucky Junction was damaged on Friday after a leaking water pipeline burst, leading to flooding in the area.

The pipeline had been replaced just two weeks ago, according to sources.

Mid-day had earlier reported about the incidents that took place at the same spot and BMC had placed metal-sheets at the affected stretches. Following a series of reports on the risky patch, the civic officials had repaired the caved-in parts on the busy street.

Impact

Earlier, after a series of reports on the risky metal sheets at the spot, the skid trap opposite Lucky Restaurant in Bandra West, where SV Road meets GR Varasakar Road, was removed. Traffic cops in the area had previously told mid-day that accidents were also taking place daily due to the metal lids, which were placed to cover an underground water chamber plagued by multiple leakage issues. Following extensive coverage by mid-day that brought the issue to the notice of authorities, the civic body had taken action and removed the metal lids.
