Whose footsteps would you like to follow?
Narendra Modi is my role model. I love the way he delivers his speeches.
But Modi has been allegedly linked to one of the worst riot cases in India's history?
Nothing has been proved. Every leader is framed at some point or the other. His development model in Gujarat is unbeatable.
What is your take on the Lyngdoh committee?
It's difficult to campaign without any posters. But I thank the committee for restricting the expenses in poll campaigns. Why should only affluent students contest elections? Before Lyngdoh, all are equal.
What is your take on Public Display of Affection? Would you support it in the campus?
It is a complete disrespect to our culture and society. Even married couples should refrain from it. If I catch anybody in the campus holding hands or kissing, I would give them a piece of my mind and ask them to go home. Girls are supposed to be the honour of their family and should not be caught in such vulgar, embarrassing acts.u00a0
Do you have a girlfriend? What do you think of Valentine's Day?
I don't have a girlfriend. Politics is the only agenda in my life. I have no issues about V-day, but I don't think that western philosophies should get so much importance. We must follow our own culture.u00a0 We have so many festivals of our own, Raksha Bandhan must be more popular than V-Day.
What are your priorities?
I would first solve all the problems faced by students in the university, especially the neglected colleges located outside the campus.u00a0
POLL DANCE
ABVP on Saturday swept the Delhi University Students' Union polls, winning 3 seats. The posts of president, vice-president and secretary seats were won by ABVP candidates. An NSUI candidate was declared winner for the post of joint secretary.
A dismal 35 per cent of the students of Delhi University turned out to vote to elect their new union on Friday, following an election campaign that was watered down and without much fervour.
The voting that was held across the campus under tight security concluded at 7pm with the electorate from 51 DU colleges sealing the fate of 41 candidates for the four DUSU panel posts.
An estimated 35 per cent of the students cast their votes.
