"Poone's boys used to provoke us and look for a chance to attack us. We decided enough is enough and attacked them before they could," Madhu said.
Madhu said one of his associates (Kumar) crushed Poone with a boulder. "I wanted to do it to avenge the humiliation and harassment, but before I could act, he did it," Madhu said as he writhed in pain.
He said they were caught when they had stopped for a bite at a dhaba on Nelamangala Road.
"We decided to escape from the city to our respective hometowns. I wanted to go to my hometown, Hassan, to take part in a fair, and I decided to get some clothes. That was a mistake. Had I gone straight away, I would have been safe by now," Madhu said.
