Only five of the 22 cabinet ministers that were present at the event complied with the dress code recommended by him.

The 17 ministers who didn't care about the dress code and were present in their usual attire include Suresh Kumar, Visweswara Hegde Kageri, Govinda Karajola, Dr V S Acharya, Bsavaraja Bommai and Mumtaz Ali Khan, Katta Subramanya Naidu and R Ashok.

He said, "He woke up late and by the time he was reminded about the meet, it was alreadyu00a0 late. Thus, he didn't get the time to dress up as he was asked to."

Naidu, who was seen in his trademark fur-cap, gave an amusing reason for ignoring CM's orders. "I would lose my identity if I don't wear the cap.

Besides, the cap doesn't go well with the formal suit," he reasoned.

Meanwhile, an official from CM's office, on condition of anonymity, said, "The cabinet ministers were asked to wear suits for the conference.
