As many as 2,697 inmates from Mumbai jails, out on bail, have gone missing, Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil said on Wednesday.u00a0
Patil gave this information in the state assembly, in a written reply to a query by BJP MLA Girish Bapat.
As of June 2013, altogether 2697 absconding accused are yet to be arrested, he said, adding orders have been issued to police to trace and arrest the remaining inmates.
