Heavy rains and lightning left five persons dead and one seriously injured in separate incidents in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district, police said today

Three persons, identified as Avadhut Sukhdev Parandwal (24), Sudershan Bajirav Awari (23) and Balu Murugan (29), were killed last night when their car drowned in flooded water of Padali river at Wadzire village.

Besides, two persons were killed and one seriously injured when lightning struck them while they had taken shelter under a tree amid heavy rainfall at Sonai village, they said.


The deceased were identified as - Raosaheb Damodar Lande (45) and Kalpana Dattatrey Lande (30).



The seriously injured person was admitted in a government hospital, police added.
