A Freudian slip and a Cobain trip

Kurt Cobain's Something In The Way and Sigmund Freud's psychological fundas influence the unnamed protagonist of Wachamacallit Productions' first-ever play, Lost and Found

The tagline of Lost and Found claims the play is a comedy about a boy who tried to die. That explains why Nirvana's front man (Kurt Cobain) and the father of modern psychology (Sigmund Freud) take time off their busy schedules in the afterlife to help a nameless young boy, as he lies in a state of coma after a failed suicide attempt.

So that the irony is not lost, let's make it clear that both Cobain and Freud ended their lives by committing suicide. Perhaps, that is an in-joke writer-director Dwijal Mehta expects her audience to figure out.

"While he's stuck in a coma he taps into the recesses of his mind and meets characters from his subconscious who represent different aspects of his mind," explains the 20 year-old playwright.

Dwijal's interest in Psychology led her to reading "a bit of Freud" and that's where the idea for this play germinated. "I found the concept of going back in time and resolving issues that are nagging, very interesting. It means that you can come back with a fresher perspective on life," she believes.

However, she refuses to confirm whether the young man in her play decides to "step out of the limbo" (no Inception reference here). Go watch the play if you want to find out which side the young man choosesu00a0-- Life, Death or Limbo.u00a0
