Sources say that Ranbir Kapoor, whose love life appears to be almost as complicated a saga as his hunt for a home, will be moving into yet another rented apartment, before his final move back to his parent’s currently under-construction bungalow at Pali Hill.

As is known, the star had moved into his grandmother’s bungalow in Chembur, the iconic residence of the late Raj Kapoor, where Mumbai’s film industry was virtually born, after his break up with co-star Katrina Kaif. The move is said to have been serendipitous, for both Krishna Kapoor and Ranbir, giving them time to bond and get to know each other.

Incidentally Kapoor’s love nest in Bandra, designed by the city’s architect du jour Ashiesh Shah, will go back to the person it had been rented from, says a source, adding, “And either star has claim to the furnishings.”
As for the new bungalow, where the star will live with his parents, word comes in that Noshir Talati has been signed on to design it, and the interiors may once again be designed by Shah.

A couple of years ago we’d attended Milan Fashion week, primarily a serious trade show which is increasingly becoming a photo op for desi fashionistas.

For all their hyped glamour, fashion weeks abroad have a workman-like air to them, and are conducted with a business-like rigour, with back-to-back events and precision-like timing, unlike fashion weeks in India where socialising and celebrity appear to hijack the proceedings.
However, singer and fashionista Kanika Kapoor, whose tryst with Milan fashion week only gets stronger with every passing year, has an itinerary, which reads like a lesson in extreme fashion victimhood this week.
‘Today she will be attending Roberto Cavalli’s show and the Fendi dinner, tomorrow there’s the Fendi show, and then the Vogue party, and Friday, she will be attending the Versace show and the Dolce Gabbana opening and then the Todd’s dinner,” says her spokesperson.
Presumably, Kapoor’s dedicated fashion engagements will take a rest on Saturday because there is no high-profile diary entry against that day, the light-eyed songstress will rise again and grace the Dolce and Gabbana show on Sunday. “She will be in the front row at all the shows,” says the spokesperson, “rubbing shoulders with all the international stars and celebs.” Indeed.
Pink power
Producer Rashmi Sharma, whose debut film ‘Pink,’ has captured the public imagination, came together with award winning filmmaker, Vibha Bakshi (Daughters of Mother India) to hold a special screening of ‘Pink’ at a multiplex in Mumbai, for the Mumbai Police on Monday.

Attended by top cop Dattatray Padsalgikar, along with Joint Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners and senior Cops, Sharma and Bakshi were seen interacting with their powerful audience after the screening.
“Pink was to convey a strong message to society. With all the injustice happening with women, it is important to make people realise their humanity and responsibility towards every individual, and raise a voice against gender discrimination,” says Sharma. “After this screening, we are confident that the Mumbai Police will stand alongside us to spread the message of ‘No means no’,” she said.
Have bubbly, will travel
Word comes in that Delhi’s swish set have been invited tonight to a celebratory champagne dinner, in honour of the visiting Deputy Managing Director of Taittinger Champagne, Clovis Taittinger, and the eldest son of Pierre Emmanuel Taittinger, the President of the iconic brand.

“Clovis joined the family business in 2007 and has a Master’s degree in history from Sorbonne, and a Business degree from EDHEC Business School, and is the fourth generation of the Taittinger family,” a source informs us. “And as part of his role, he travels the world to spread awareness about his Reims-based champagne house, which was founded in 1734.”
The dinner will be hosted in the PDR section at Spectra, the all day dining restaurant at a five-star in Gurgaon, and four different varieties of champagne from the house will be served: Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, Tattinger Brut Reserve, Taittinger La Marquetterie and the Taittinger Rose, says the source, adding, “As the Taittinger La Marquetterie does not exist in India, five bottles are being brought in by Mr. Taittinger himself.”
A complete redesign?
If the purpose of design is to present things in an attractive and striking way, then this picture of consummate design maven Rajshree Pathy, founder of India Design Forum, with man about the Planet, Suhel Seth at the London Design Biennale, which she posted on social media is certainly a design coup.

“Cindy Crawford & Hugh Hefner @ London Design Biennale!” said Pathy, tongue firmly in cheek. And indeed, the pair, already attractive in their middle ages — in keeping with the biennale’s theme — appear completely to have redesigned themselves!
Upcoming fundraiser
We caught up with designer Maheka Mirpuri, whose NGO MCAN hosts an annual fundraiser for the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH), held in the first week of October. Mirpuri had recently returned from Jaipur, where she’d gone to shoot her new collection, which will be unveiled at the charity gala and whose proceeds will go to the TMH.

“In the past three years we have raised over Rs 1.5 crore and handed it over to TMH. I am hoping to raise more and cross that at this year’s fundraiser,” says Mirpuri, whose family’s brush with cancer four years ago has motivated her to reach out to its victims ever since.
Amongst the art that will go under the hammer this year are works by renowned artists S H Raza, Krishnamachari Bose and Mrityunjay Mondal, along with jewellery by Renu Oberoi and a luxury destination stay in Thailand. Mirpuri’s foundation provides financial assistance to the underprivileged fighting head and neck cancer at the TMH.
