Chennai: After 48 hours of frantic search involving assets drawn from IAF, Navy and Coast Guard, IAF authorities have lodged a formal complaint with Tamil Nadu police over the missing AN-32 aircraft. “The complaint was lodged on Saturday with Selaiyur police,” a senior police official said yesterday.

“The complaint says 29 personnel on board AN-32 and the aircraft have gone missing. Among the missing is one person from Tamil Nadu,” the official added. Such a complaint has been lodged for legal purposes. A similar plaint was filed when Coast Guard’s Dornier went missing last year. The wreckage of the aircraft was later found off Cuddalore.
