Irate public set an army truck on fire after it knocked down a boy. Sayed Ashraf, 10, who was coming in a cycle, died on the spot when the truck hit him at Shampura main road, Devara jeevana Halli.u00a0
The truck was carrying liquor. When the police came to the spot, public started pelting stones, damaging two police vehicles.
Police rescued the army driver who was locked by the irate public. It is not yet clear whether he was drunk at the time of the accident.
Police later shifted the body to Ambedkar Medical College and have registered a case.u00a0
