A 26-year-old woman from Jayanagar is Bangalore's first swine flu victim.

Rupa Anand, who was being treated at St Philomena's hospital, died today. She was admitted three days ago with symptoms of the flu.

Her death comes a day after state health secretary I R Peruman went on record saying, "If you are not less than 18 and above 60 and if you are not pregnant, then there is no need to worry as you are not in the risk category."
