The skyrocketing prices of essential commodities had impacted not just those in the below poverty line (BPL) category but "almost the entire middle class", Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader L.K. Advani said Wednesday after a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The BJP delegation met the prime minister at his 7, Race Course Road residence to "convey the concern of the people" on the rising prices of the food articles, Advani told reporters.

The delegation, led by Advani and party president Nitin Gadkari, also included Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and her counterpart in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley, an official in the party's media cell told IANS.
