Phatikcherra: In a bizarre incident a security person shot his wife dead and then committed suicide on Sunday evening here, said police.
The incident took place around 9.15 p.m. in the BSF 195 battalion head quarters. According to police, Constable Surinder Matti, 27, shot his wife, Khushi Debnath, from his service rifle and committed suicide.
The cause of the death though could not be assured but it is suspected that it may be due to some family feud over suspicion that Surinder had another wife at his home state.
Surinder was from Assam and Khushi a local from Amtali in the outskirts of Agartala. The incident took only a day after a lady was killed by his son who also committed suicide and died on Saturday.
