Daylight robbery

Earlier this month, a jewellery shop owner was looted of several lakhs by three bike-borne armed assailants in east Delhi. The incident took place at around 2pm when one of the sons of the owner - Sachin was at the shop. The police have registered a case of loot and is investigating it.
Malhotra Jewellers on Vikas Marg did not have too many visitors. ''The three bikers entered the shop and then started beating up Sachin. They left with Rs 5 lakh in cash and jewellery,'' said an investigating officer. ''The fact that such a big robbery can take place without a firearm is difficult to believe,'' said an officer.
