Onlookers say the body was lying there in a pool of blood for many hours despite several PCR calls having been made

Another case of police apathy. The body of a youth crushed under a blueline bus lay in a pool of blood in front of Adarsh Nagar police station in the Capital late on Thursday night. Witnesses say that several calls had been made to the Police Control Room (PCR), but cops didn't appear on the scene for several hours.

A senior police official denied the allegation and said that they came soon after they received a call from the control room. The official said that the youth was returning home after work on his bike when he me with the accident.

"The bus plying on route number 127 between Old Delhi Railway Station and Haidarpur was heading towards Narela when the driver lost control and rammed into the victim'sbike. The victim fell on the road and got run over. He was taken to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead," said the police official. Police said that the identity of the victim had not been established. Meanwhile, eyewitnesses claimed that the bus dragged the biker for half a kilometre before coming to a halt.
