However, Pental allegedly refused to address the demand and Chaudhary and supporters did not take it too considerately.

The DUSU president and his supporters allegedly turned violent and vandalized the vice-chancellor's office. They also reportedly hurled abuses at Pental. Security guards and policemen were called to stop them.

"At around 1 in the afternoon, I along with the 50-60 other students went to meet the vice-chancellor. For an hour or so he kept us waiting. When I was finally called he was not ready to hear the issue. This was not acceptable to us," Manoj Chowdhary, DUSU president, said.

The last date for getting migrated from one college to other was November 16 however the results for first year students pursuing correspondence courses were announced on November 22. Due to all this the students with better percentage were not able to migrate to regular colleges.

"Everyday 20-30 students were coming to DUSU office with such complaints. The vice-chancellor said we don't want students from the correspondence courses to join regular colleges and the dates were purposefully kept in that manner," added Chaudhary.

Condemning the episode, Pental, said: "Anything which can be sought out amicably, should not take such an ugly turn. The students wanted to force the entire thing on me rather than requesting."

Chaudhary was also detained for few hours after which he was released. This is not the first of its kind case. In April, DUSU members ransacked the chemistry department and in June allegedly confronted Joint Dean Suman K Verma and Deputy Dean Seema N Parihar.
