Call centre employee drowns at Bhushi dam

A 24-year-old youth drowned in the Bhushi dam near Lonavla while picnicking with his friends on Sunday afternoon.

u00a0Police said Nakul Subhash Bhagat, a resident of Viman Nagar, worked at a call centre located at Kharadi in the city.

Lonavla police said that at 11 am, the group of four to five youths, including Bhagat came to the dam area and ventured into the waters. “Unable to gauge the depth of the water, Bhagat went a little deeper and started drowning. His friends tried to save him, however to no avail, ” said a police officer, attached to Lonavla police station.u00a0


After seeing him drown, his friends then alerted local residents and subsequently informed the police and fire brigade officials who arrived at the spot. At 5.30 pm, Bhagat’s body was fished out from the dam waters. u00a0
