New CP visited high-profile Tilak Marg police station late on Tuesday

The newly appointed Commissioner of Delhi police, BK Gupta, visited the sensitive and important Tilak Marg police station late on Tuesday night.

Cops were on their toes and the night life of Delhi virtually came to a standstill. Sources in the Delhi police told MiD DAY that the Commissioner made a sudden visited to the Tilak Marg police station and then went on a patrol in several other areas. Each and every picket and police post was alerted as they received message about the CP's travel plans. This was the first time after the appointment of Gupta when he decided to do an unscheduled check at a police station.

The top cops of the area were also seen roaming in the neighbourhood, frisking suspicious vehicles. None of the officers confirmed that they had seen the CP on the round, but said they had heard about it. All the police stations in the New Delhi District were 'working' till late at night.
