Johnson Anjanappa (34) was wanted in two cases of murder, 20 robberies and five cases of grievous assault
Anjanappa, who was involved in over 20 robberies, two murders and five cases of grievous assault, was shot dead by Rafiq and Inspector Rajesh of HSR Layout police station in an encounter early yesterday morning.

"This is the second time I have been targeted by criminals. I have managed to stay alive. I had to fire in both cases because that is something called for in such tough situations," said Johnson.

In January last year, Rafiq similarly shot dead Nepali national Namraj Bahadur Thapa (35), who was involved in over 15 cases of robbery.
Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (crime) said, "Johnson was involved in two murders in Bangalore, including the murder of gangster Palini in Bowrings Hospital two years ago.

He also killed another criminal Fairoz in Mahalaxmi police limits. We have been on the lookout for him for the last two years, and have finally managed to bring him down."
