While the engine has been up and running for the last six months, Phantasm Games waited until the launch of the first game developed on the platform until making an official announcement.

Manjith Krishnappa, CEO, Phantasm Games, said, "The engine was in the works for two years and is completely proprietary. We can now put together any game required. Two games have already been released and have another one is in the pipeline."

The two games which have been released are Bubble Rush for the Intel App Store and Drag Impact for the XBox 360 console.

'Surprised'
Bharath B S, CEO, Zunaa Software, said, "An engine developed by an Indian company is great. It takes a lot of time, effort and money to create such an engine and I am surprised that an Indian company could do it."

Narasimha Murthy, CEO, HK IT Solutions, said, "As a game developer myself, I think it's a fantastic thing to happen for the Indian gaming industry. Putting together an indigenous engine is not easy but a launch was expected for some time now."

Vamsi Krishna, product manager, AMD India, said, "It is definitely a great idea. It would be even better if they are able to add an Indian touch to games."
