When it comes to services, people trust the private sector more than the government. But, the Central Industrial Security Force is one service which every private sector enterprise is running after.

With the government opening the CISF security cover for the private sector, following approval by the Parliament, the force has witnessed a huge demand for its services specially post 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.u00a0
The Delhi Public School (DPS) is one among many others who want CISF cover. The RK Puram, East of Kailash and Vasant Vihar branches of the school have written to the government, seeking CISF security cover. According to sources in Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the school sent its requisition last month.

MiD DAY tried to contact Principal of DPS, RK Puram, Shyama Chona, but she was not available to comment on the issue.

"The three branches of the DPS want to upgrade their security infrastructure. We have written to the CISF seeking information about kinds of security arrangements they can provide," said an MHA official, requesting anonymity.

After the Parliament passed an amendment to the CISF Act, allowing the Central force to guard private establishments, the force is flooded with such requests.

"The force is committed to secure all public sector undertakings and now, we are ready to bestow private organisations with similar security cover," said a CISF official, requesting anonymity.

CISF Director General (DG), NR Das, while addressing the gathering on the closing ceremony of India International Security Expo said, "Many private establishments have written to us. We will process the requests according to the norms laid down for such procedures."

Meanwhile, sources have denied any concrete threat perception to the schools.
