Ranchi: A 24-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant near Dassam falls in Bundu in Ranchi, police said on Wednesday.
The elephant killed Akshay Kumar Mahto when villagers tried to chase a herd of 17 pachyderms which came to the area from a near-by forest on Tuesday.

As per forest rule, compensation was given to the bereaved family.
