The daily racket at the lounge bar pushed a neighbour to sell his apartment, and guess who bought it?

Sick of the loud music at The Beach, the owner of an apartment next door reportedly sold it to the lounge bar owner and left in disgust.

The lounge bar was stormed by an angry group last week.

A resident of Rock Residency on Indiranagar 100 Ft Road moved out because the racket from the club made it impossible for his family to lead a normal life, a source told MiD DAY.

The group entered the lounge bar and scared away the partying crowd last weekend, and police said they had arrested some of the protesters earlier this week.

When MiD DAY spoke to other residents, they admitted they had been approached to sell their flats to the restaurant owner.

u00a0A resident of Rock Residency said he would regularly call the police whenever the noise got excessive, and they would show up and leave soon.

In 2006, neighbours had filed a complaint at the Indiranagar police station, but no action was taken.

Vipul Khurana, manager of The Beach said he was authorised to speak on behalf of the owners.

"They have their own houses and they would not spend their money doing this. They can instead open other clubs with that money," he told MiD DAY.

He said he had never seen his customers misbehave. "Our guests are educated and sophisticated. The neighbours are just making up a story," he claimed.

Beach bums
On Saturday, August 29, when a birthday party was in progress, neighbours stormed The Beach and forced its customers to flee. Customers of the lounge bar had parked their vehicles in the narrow alley, and reportedly provided the spark for the fury. "Drunk, unruly and urinating all over the place," is how neighbours describe customers of the lounge bar. A resident of Rock Residency, the apartment immediately behind The Beach, said, "They throw beer cans in front of our homes and stand there smooching in front of our gates."
