India-South Korea jointly hold anti-piracy operations at Chennai coast

A South Korean coast guard ship, on Wednesday arrived in Chennai coast, Tamil Nadu, to take part in a joint exercise 'Sshyog-Hyeoblyeog-2016' which basically aims at anti-piracy operations and boosting naval ties.

School students and officials were at the welcoming ceremony of 'Korea Coast Guard Ship 3009' at Chennai Port Trust ahead of the joint exercise 'Sahyog-Hyeoblyeog-2016' (cooperation).



South Korea Consul General, Chennai Kyungsoo Kim is also seen.

The exercise is likely to last till June 11.

This is the fifth edition of the Indo-Korean 'Sshyog-Hyeoblyeog' when coast guards of the two countries were involved in joint exercise in the Bay of Bengal off Chennai.
