The arrest of three Bodo militants who were running an extortion racket in the city has opened a can of worms
India's IT capital has once again proven safe haven for the underworld and terrorist groups, following the arrest of three Bodo militants including a woman who were not only hiding in the city but were also continuing an extortion racket. In a joint operation, the JP Nagar police nabbed Dwimalu Khungur Diamari (30) and his wife Nisha, along with his associate Johnny Dung (25).

On a tip off from their Assam counterpart, the JP Nagar police raided a rented house in the area and nabbed the trio. The police have also confiscated laptops, mobile phones and SIM cards from their possession.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the Dwimalu, who is part ofu00a0 the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), with several criminal cases pending against him. "His main job is to pump money for the organisation through his extortion racket," said a police official.
He along with his wife and friend escaped from Assam after the Assam state police set a massive manhunt.
"Dwimalu Came to Bangalore in May to take shelter but continue his extortion racket from here, targeting industrialist and businessmen demanding protection money," he added.
The Assam police with the help of SIM card managed to track down Dwimalu and informed the Bangalore city police seeking help. The JP Nagar police are further investigating to ascertain whether Dwimalu has any contacts in the city.
Being the nephew of Ranjan Daimari, allegedly the Bodo chief Dwindlu is considered to be top ranked in the outfit. After Rajan was arrested, Dwindlu managed to escape to Bangalore, and continued his extortion racket.
"His job was to accumulate and distribute money to the cadre. His arrest is being considered vital for the Assam STF (Special Task Force), as he is supposed to be having information about the supply and storage of ammunition belonging to the group," said a police officer who was a part of the raid.
