Achievers all: Anthropologist Jane Goodall (TED 2003), Infosys founder Nandan Nilekani ( 2008) and ace film director Yash Chopra will share the secret of their success at this year's conference

Young India can now imbibe great ideas from 18-minute capsules on the lives of nearly 400 global achievers and help re-shape their own country.u00a0

TED, a global platform to share the best practices in technology, entertainment and design, will facilitate young professionals to emerge as leaders through 'TED India'.

TED India will be the first of its kind conference at the Infosys Mysore campus from November 4-7.u00a0

While techies and professionals from all walks of life will share their skills, about 400 world changers from science, technology, business, social entrepreneurship and creative arts including producer and director Yash Chopra and Google founder Lary Page will 'talk of their lives' in 18 minutes.u00a0u00a0

"TED India is an opportunity to bring even more global voices to TED and bring TED's energy and entrepreneurship to India," said Lakshmi Pratury, a TED attendee. "It's an opportunity to play host to extraordinary talent from around the world and across disciplines."

Celebrity leaders

Leaders who have dared to think differently will inspire young professionals in India who are striving in these tough times.

They include Simpsons creator Matt Groening, Segway inventor Dean Kamenan, an entrepreneur whose emergency team became heroes during the Mumbai terrorist attacks and an educator in the slums whose students outperform private school students.

Past profiles

Microsoft Corporation founder Bill Gates, World Wide Web founder Tim Berners-lee, former US vice-president and Nobel Prize winner Al Gore, Infosys founder Nandan Nilekani and anthropologist Jane Goodall are some of the achievers who have shared their experiences on the TED platform in the past.

TED U

The platform also encourages young thinkers to present their ideas on global challenges, economic advancements, local innovations and their global impact under TED U.

TED will take the best ideas as 'ideas for changing the world'.u00a0 "It's exciting that TED is in India," said Sudhakar, a software engineer in Mysore. "We will certainly take part in TED India.
