Ranga Shankara's Zapperdockel & The Wock
Zapperdockels and Wocks are popular animal characters from German folklore.u00a0 Zapperdockels are tiny and happy-go-lucky while Wocks are giants consider fighting with each other as entertainment. "They are different from each other but become friends by the end of the play," says Gayatri Krishnan, programme coordinator with Bangalore- based Ranga Shankara Theatre.

Ranga Shankara's Robinson and Crusoe
The play is about two soldiers from enemy camps stranded on a sloping rooftop, under harsh sunlight, in the middle of the ocean. One of the soldiers speaks English but nobody understands the other soldier's language. Although enemies, both need each other to survive, and that's how a friendship is triggered. Watch out for brilliant actors Satya and Tariq Vasudeva as the leads.

Aasakta's Junglenama
Unarguably, the play's USP is its slick design and costumes, and of course, talented cast. Animals decide to come together to fight increasing human invasion into the jungle before they agree on co-existence with their intended prey. It uses nautanki and shadow puppetry. "We're trying to educate kids about conservation," says Ashish Mehta of the Pune-based group.
