METRO SCARE
An unclaimed briefcase created panic at Rajiv Chowk Metro station on Saturday after passengers suspected it to be a bomb. However, it was later discovered to be a hoax even as train services reportedly remained unaffected.
Commuters noticed the briefcase near the Line 3 platform to Noida and Anand Vihar around noon and immediately informed Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) staff. It had some wires jutting out which aggravated the chaos.
Security personnel from Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which guards the Metro, cordoned off the area and also evacuated the kiosks in the vicinity. The bag was searched and it was found to be carrying parts of a computer such as CPU, etc.
