Youngsters from city design website that will provide detailed information on any topic related to city

A group of youngsters from the city have designed a website called oyepune.com that will cater to the needs of every Puneite in a much customised manner. There are hundreds of sites and blogs, giving information about Pune, but they all are in bits and pieces. These sites specialise in giving out detailed information on a particular topic but fail to provide other types of information on the same platform.

Nikhil Vaidya, Prashant Shelar, Nihar Vaidya, Rajesh Jain and Neha Deshpande have conceptualised the website which will be launched and inaugurated by eminent cartoonist Mangesh Tendulkar on Sunday.

"The name oyepune was arrived at after a long discussion. OYE in the site name means Origin of Youth Energy, which clearly addresses our target audience. The site will have 51 categories including education, culture, sports and history," said Nikhil Vaidya, director of the website project. "We have not limited ourselves to only host information, but have gone ahead to organise useful events to engage site visitors and registered users. These events will include seminars, animation workshops, among others."

Soon in Marathi
The website will be in English and later Marathi language option will be added. Registration on the site is free and all necessary steps for data security have been taken. "This will ensure that information collected and published on the site will not be distorted or hacked by any entity," said Nihar.
