More than 16,000 cases were settled in the Lokadalat that was conducted in the Pune District Court yesterday

More than 16,000 cases were settled in the Lokadalat that was conducted in the Pune District Court yesterday. It mainly comprised of the cases related to mobile companies, toll plazas and motor vehicle act cases.u00a0

The total number of cases expected to come up in Lokadalat was 35-40 thousand, however the exact data was not available.u00a0

The Pune District Legal Service Authority (PDLSA) had urged the toll plaza authorities to come up with their cases. 5,875 toll plaza cases were successfully settled.

15,534 cases pending in the court and 1,175 pre-litigation were also settled in the Lokadalat.

Secretary of PDLSA Rahul Ramchandra Bhosale, said, "We got a good response from the citizens and lawyers.
The number of cases settled in today's Lokadalat is one of the highest in recent past."

u00a0The Lokadalat was inaugurated by the Principal District Judge Madan Joshi, who is also the Chairman of PDLSA.
Around 40 students from law colleges of the city volunteered for the Lokadalat to be successful.

u00a0The break-up of data regarding settled cases of mobile companies and other categories was not available till late Sunday night.

The compilation work of the data was going on.
