The BJP government is going to face a tough time again as the Lokayukta has filed a criminal complaint against IT BT Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu again, two months after they caught while trying to allegedly influence a witness.

Katta will be the third minister facing criminal charges. The other two are Renukaracharya, who is charged with criminal intimidation and abetment of suicide, and Halappa who has been charged with raping his friend's wife. It may be recalled that the Lokayukta had also trapped Y Sampangi, an MLA, while accepting Rs five lakh from a businessman.
Additional DGP RK Dutta said that Naidu has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption act along with his son Katta Jagadish, a corporator, and another 210 persons, including a deputy commissioner and land acquisition officers.
Theu00a0 case has been registered on the basis of leads and evidence that came up in the course of investigation of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) land scam.
The investigations revealed that ITASCA, a private firm, had submitted an application seeking land for IT and ITES for SEZ project in Bandikodigehalli village.
The application was approved through a series of irregular processes by Naidu, and the land was acquired in May 2007.
Investigators said that there have also been instances of a company having entered into an MoU with other firms, even before land was alloted to them. One of the firms paid Rs 87 crore to Indu builders whose identity is being investigated. Lokayukta is also probing the role of Naidu's other family members.
Lokayukta officials also found that the officials of the Industries department and KIADB committed criminal misconduct facilitating Katta Naidu and his son Jagadish with forgery, and fabrication of documents.
The Lokayukta officials have also booked ITASCA and United Telecom, who paid an undisclosed amount to the builders and developers (which allegedly belong tou00a0 Katta Subramanya Naidu).
