MNS leader Ravindra Dhangekar and 30 supporters agitated at the Pune railway police station late in the evening yesterday. They were asking for action against a North Indian contract worker, Suresh Singh Munirsingh Bhadoria, for allegedly beating Pandit Jadhav, his Maharashtrian co-worker, in front of a police sub-inspector. Jadhav and Bhadoria work at a fruit stall.
ACP Ranjeet Abhinkar later sorted out the issue by promising action.
Jadhav, a Wadgaon Sheri resident, was allegedly slapped and beaten by Bhadoria in before PSI Augustine Fernandis at the police station. "We will not tolerate such behavior," MNS leader Ravindra Dhangekar told MiD DAY. Dhangekar also urged action against PSI Fernandis for not detaining Bhadoria.
A non-cognisable complaint has been filed by the railway police. Abhinkar is believed to have assured
the MNS delegation that Fernandis would be transferred to Pimpri or Chinchwad railway police station.
