Yavatmal: Seven persons were killed when two bikes, one carrying three youths and other one with four youths collided head-on in Yavatmal district of Maharashtra.

The accident took place yesterday in front of a Sai Temple on Pusad-Umarkhed road last evening, Pusad police station officer Anil Kuralkar said today, adding, the two bikes collided as one of them overtook a tractor.


The deceased were identified as Sheshrao Kale (45), Yuvaraj Guvhade (22), Balu Guvhade (35), Yadhav Dhakre (22), all residents of village Harshi; Vilas Kale (22), Khandu Tambhare (21) and Ravi Karhale (23), residents of village Chilwadi.



The tractor driver also applied brakes when the accident took place and it turned turtle, but he was not injured, inspector Kuralkar added.
