A man identified as Dhananjay Panduram Bathe (35), a resident of Dattanagar, was murdered at his shop last night. Bathe had a cassettes and CD shop in Dattanagar.
Around 8.45 pm he was sitting outside his shop, when unidentified men attacked him. His body was brought to Sassoon hospital around 10.45 pm.
Bathe had received severe head injuries and cuts on his face.
His body was sent for postmortem around 12.30 am.
Police officials said he was stabbed by a sharp object. Along with the police, relatives and friends of Bathe came in large numbers to Sassoon hospital to claim the body.

The police are now on the lookout for the weapon and eyewitnesses.

by Relatives of the deceased said that as soon as the incident happened, a passer-by named Ganpath informed the police, who later informed his family members.
