Etah: A 16-year-old boy was electrocuted after he came in contact with a live wire in Pawas village in the district, police said on Thursday.

Chootoo, while climbing a Jamun tree in the area on Wednesday, came in contact with a live wire, police said, adding he died on the spot due to shock and severe burn injuries.

Irate villagers and family members of the deceased blocked the road and demanded action against electricity department officials.

An FIR was registered against the electricty department by the family members of the deceased, police said.
