Residents in Adarsh Nagar near Sultanpalaya were shocked to discover that their car windows and mirrors were shattered by unknown miscreants late last night. The surprising part however, is that only three cars parked on the right hand side of the street were damaged.

Residents were alerted of the miscreants after they heard the sound of glass breaking outside their homes at approximately 10.45 pm last night. When homeowners ventured out to identify the cause of the disturbance, they saw an auto fleeing from the scene with three men in the backseat and the driver.u00a0

Zubair Khan, a resident of Adarsh Nagar, said, "I heard the first few loud thuds and didn't think much of it. But then the noises continued and then I heard an auto stopping just a few feet from my house and that's when I stepped outside."

He added, "My car was probably the first to be hit. Nothing was taken from the car and it was just damaged by these people." Syed Pervez, another resident whose home is just a few doors from Khan's, said, "Luckily my car was not damaged by these people. It's so shocking that such a thing would happen here. This area is fairly calm and nothing ever happens here."

Police officials arrived at the scene at about 11.30 pm after phone calls were made by residents to report the incident. A police official from K G Halli police Station, said, "It seems to be a case of drunken misbehavior. The identities of these men are still unknown and none of the residents here have taken down the auto's licence plate numbers. Tracing the auto will be difficult now." He added, "This is an isolated and random incident and this area is relatively very calm."
