Muzaffarnagar: A woman allegedly committed suicide over dowry harassment by her husband and in-laws in neighbouring Shamli district, police said today. The woman was found hanging from the ceiling at her house yesterday, they said.
The woman got married to Kunwerpal ten years ago and is survived by two children. She was allegedly being harassed by Kunwerpal for dowry. A case of abetment to suicide and dowry harassment has been registered against Kunwerpal and two of his family members, a police official said.
The accused are absconding and a search for them has been initiated, he added.
