Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has declared that he would not celebrate his birthday as long as he's in power and not accept any garlands at any public function.

Yeddyurappa's first birthday after coming to power falls on February 27. "As long as I am on the chief minister's chair, I won't celebrate my birthday. I will only go to a temple and offer prayers. That's it. There won't be any celebrations. I don't believe in wasting time in celebration as the chief minister," he said.

The CM also announced that henceforth he will not accept any garlands. "I was thinking of it for quite some time, but accept garlands and flowers. Now on I will not accept them at any public function or otherwise," he declared.
