This year, keeping that in mind, Vivek Oberoi’s PR team approached the Khetwadi 12th lane sarvajanik Ganeshotsav mandal. asking if their client could be a part of their immersion process. This an attempt to promote his latest movie.
However, Oberoi’s team was in for a rude shock when the mandal organisers denied his request, citing security reasons.
Ganesh Mathur, a member and spokesperson of the mandal, said, “We were approached by Vivek Oberoi’s PR team asking if he could be part of the procession. But, we are unable to provide the security measures they were asking and denied his request.”
Second try
Oberoi’s team then approached the Girgaumcha Raja Sarvajanik Mandal where his request was approved. The mandal confirmed Oberoi’s request and told MiD DAY that they have arranged for 40 volunteers that would act as security for the star. The president of Girgaumcha Raja mandal, Paresh Bandekar, said, “We will be having Vivek coming in our procession around 3 pm and he will be around for two hours. We will provide him with a separate truck from where he can interact with the devotees.”
Date troubles
A source close to the actor, said, “We had approached the Khetwadi mandal but as we did not get a confirmation, we opted for the other mandal as promotion of the movie was top priority.
When MiD DAY contacted Reema Bahadkar, spokesperson for the actor, she said, “Vivek has shown interest but we are yet to finalise on the same as his dates are not yet confirmed.”u00a0
