Bibhisan Pawar, a labourer from the Shantinagar slums alleged that Pramod Thakur, his neighbour launched an attack with a sword after a dispute broke out between the two families, late last night.

Hearing cries of help, a distant relative Dattu Gaikwad stepped in to help restore peace in the neighbourhood. Infuriated with Gaikwad's interference, Thakur attacked him with a sword on his head.

They rushed Gaikwad to Bhosari chowky to narrate the whole incidence but Thakur also followed them to the police station and claimed that it was he who was attacked by Pawar's family.

Pawar further alleges that the head constable R B Pachpute asked them to get the medical check-up at YCM Hospital and then report to the police station.

Gaikwad was admitted to YCM Hospital and was being treated at the hospital for head injury at the time of going to press.
