Learn more than just acting at Aditee Biswas' upcoming theatre workshop

Life may or may not be a stage, but we're all actors no doubt. It's the fine art of putting up a fa ade that keeps us updated with the latest in the acting world. But there're people who take this potential very seriously, and it's for them that theatre company Actor Factor's come up with a two-week workshop.

Actor Factor rehearsals in progress

Ready to play
There's are enough reasons for you to join this workshop. It'll take you through the basics of an actor's life, enlightening you on mobilisation of energy, importance of physical needs, concentration, depth of a character, the need to be self-aware, teamwork and environment.
Once you're successfully done with this intensive program, you'll be ready to write your own scripts, design your sets and stage your own plays.
"Most of the summer workshops focus only on acting skills, but if you're truly interested in theatre, acting is not the only thing that makes you excel. You need to understand set design, scriptwriting, costume design and music that goes into it. The workshop will introduce students to every aspect of theatre, and not just acting. There will be activities based on the Natya Shastra, an ancient Indian thesis on the performing arts like theatre, dance and music, which also forms the basis of teaching at National School of Drama," says Sunit Sinha.

Master's piece
The workshop will be conducted by Aditee Biswas, an alumnus of National School of Drama and now a guest teacher at the institute. She specialises in design and direction.
Aditee has earlier collaborated with eminent theatre directors such as MK Raina, Roysten Abel and Mahesh Dattani and directed and designed several theatre productions in India and abroad like 'The Little Prince' and JB Priestly's 'An Inspector Calls'.
Highly recommended.
