Rapid Rescue Service docs to reach patients on bikes with immediate help

If you have watched sexy cops patrolling the streets of Santa Monica on bikes in the hit TV series Pacific Blue, then imagine doctors imitating the stunts on motorised wheels. Medics in the city have found an innovative way to beat the hustle-bustle and reach patients on timeu00a0they are zipping on bikes.

In an endeavor to provide door-to-door medical emergency services, Gurgaon-based Rapid Rescue Services has launched an emergency medical rescue service across New Delhi and Gurgaon. It promises to send you a motorcycle-borne doctor within 30 minutes of a call. The service provider claims that such rapid response will help the patient in getting medical attention in what is called the "golden hour".

Col Rahul Pande, head of operations, Rapid Rescue Service, said: "A number of patients die because they do not get medical attention during the golden hour when there is a maximum chance of saving life. Our aim is to ensure that each patient gets a doctor as soon as possible."

"As our doctors will ride motorcycles, they can reach the spot before any ambulance," Pande added.

The bikes, all black in colour, will be fitted with GPS devices for monitoring their position and the location of the patient, cardiac support equipment and oxygen cylinder. All doctors associated with the service will be MBBS degree holders and trained by a medical team from the Life-support Training Institute of the US.

Dr Pradeep Philip, who is associated with the service, said, "The basic motive is to provide people medical facilities when needed. There are many cases where there is no hospital is nearby. In such cases, our service will come handy." Another Rapid Rescue Service professional Dr Wilsee Dhawan said, "This is a great concept. The facility will help cardiac patients a lot."
