Away from the misery of flood-hit constituencies, MLAs in Goa and Hyderabad are having the time of
their lives, thanks to the ambitious Reddys
The Reddys are spending Rs 12 lakh a day on 50 MLAs they have herded away to Goa and Hyderabad. Camping away from Bangalore and expressing unhappiness against Chief Minister Yediyurappa, the people's representatives are having a fun time at the spas and the swimming pools, not to speak of the bars and restaurants.
Some are going out on cruises, and trying out their skills at water sports.
But the mining baron Reddy brothers, Karunakara and Janardhana, are keeping an eye on the MLA's and not letting them stir out of their five- and seven-star hotels.
"The MLA's are having a good time while their flood-hit constituencies are suffering," said a source at Novotel, Hyderabad.
Lap of luxury
In Goa, Fisheries Minister Anand Asnotikar is leading a group of fun-loving MLA's trying their hand at water sports.
They are spending Rs 20,000 a day on each MLA at Novotel, and Rs 25,000 on each MLA in Goa, said sources.

"The room rent alone is Rs12,000 every day at Novotel, where more than 40 MLA's are staying. Even a water bottle here costs Rs 75," added our source.
The MLA's, who have already spent four days outside Karnataka, are having fun.
Many are gymming, swimming, playing tennis, and jogging, but a few areu00a0 also staying back at their hotels.u00a0u00a0
MLAs inside Novotel are missing their favourite Kannada news channels.u00a0u00a0
"We are holding meetings whenever required," said M P Renukacharya, MLA staying at Novotel. "We are watching television for updates. That's all I can tell you about our activities here."
