Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, who recently got a clean chit in the 2008 Malegaon blast case, yesterday visited Ujjain for the ongoing Simhastha Kumbh as a last wish. Her lawyer said the court had granted her permission to visit Simhastha on May 4 but the authorities had rejected her request.

She had also started an indefinite hunger strike on Monday demanding permission to take a dip in the Shipra river. “Pragya, in her application, had told Dewas district court that since she feels there is a threat to her life, it is her last wish to visit Simhastha Kumbh,” Bhagwan Jha, Sadhvi’s brother-in-law, told mid-day.
Jha further said the court had given her a go ahead on May 4 itself but the authorities told court that they can’t take Sadhvi to Ujjain as they don’t have enough police to escort her and also cited security reasons. She will take the dip today.
