Speaker removes Goa PAC chief

In a late development on Friday, Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly Pratapsingh Rane replaced Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar as the Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), with a BJP legislator who has been linked with a move to join the Congress party. The order comes hours after Parrikar accused Rane of siding with the Congress and protecting "a person" involved in Goa's illegal mining scam. He has been replaced by BJP legislator from Canacona Vijay Pai Khot.
