Doctors had advised him to go for a full medical check-up after he complained of dizziness in jail

Just a few days after he had to wait for five hours at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the sacked Commonwealth Games Organising Committee chief Suresh Kalmadi paid a visit to the hospital once again.u00a0 Though the report by specialists of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital (LNJP) confirmed he didn't have dementia, Kalmadi is getting more tests done at AIIMS.

According to Tihar Jail authorities, the MRI report at LNJP hospital has ruled out Kalmadi suffering from dementia. Lodged in Tihar Jail for nearly three months now, 67-year-old Kalmadi was admitted to AIIMS on August 1. Sources said a positron emission tomography (PET) scan of his brain was done to assess the condition of his brain, including determination of dementia or brain lesion.

"He has undergone a number of blood tests. MRI has already been done but he is yet to undergo a cardiac evaluation," said a neurologist on the condition of anonymity. "He is absolutely all right. His condition is stable. He has undergone the necessary tests and we hope that by tomorrow, we might be able to do the remaining tests. I cannot say by when will he be discharged. We are yet to decide that," said Dr Rakesh Yadav, acting official spokesperson of AIIMS.

Fact file
A three-member team of doctors, including neurologist Dr M V Padma, cardiologist Dr Rakesh Yadav and Dr Aarti Vij, is looking after Kalmadi. On July 28, the sacked CWG organising committee chairman was advised by doctors at AIIMS to get admitted for a "short duration" and undergo "complete evaluation", after he complained of dizziness. It may be the result of a brain injury, or progressive loss, resulting in long-term decline due to damage or disease in the body.
