When Rock band Vertigo was formed way back in 1994, they probably had an inkling of things to come. From swooning crowds to awards galore, this band has it all. Winners of I-Rock 2005, the Pune Rock competition, Vertigo plays a mix of Retro, Metal and Funk.

"The kind of music we play is a mixture of Retro, Metal and Funk and this is exactly one of the reasons why we won the I-Rock," states Abhijit. Vertigo has been inspired by iconic bands like Deep Purple, Pink Floyd and Iron Maiden as well as Indian bands like Parikrama. The band is known for their original tracks as well as for their rendition of hits.

"The Indian music scene is growing fast. There is a lot more quality work and bands get more exposure nowadays, thanks to the music festivals happening in India, US and the UK," adds Abhijit. "There is a move to create original tracks with bands experimenting with various genres of music, such as Indian Classical, Blues, Rock and Jazz. We even used the sitar in our original song "Believe".
