A group of nearly 50 undertrials at Thane Central Jail these days are busy imparting training of meditation and Yoga to fellow inmates, thanks to initiative of spiritual organisation 'Bramhakumaris'.

The organisation has been imparting meditation and Yoga training to jail inmates since 1985 and after nearly three decades, around 50 inmates have mastered the art and have become trainers, said Bramhakumaris Thane unit's sister Rekha.


She said started in a small set up in 1985, hundreds of inmates under a reform and Yoga and meditation has brought a notable change in their lives. Now, many of the sessions, even day-long ones, are conducted by jail inmates for other prisoners.



She said a large number of young inmates from states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar, who require reform.
