Chef's delight: Baked grouper with cauliflower puree potato cake and grenoble sauce

For the best baked grouper this side of the Pacific, stop by at Colonial on Vittal Mallya Road

Colonial, with a change of guard at the helm, offers the world on a platter for the adventurous foodie.u00a0

It has an informal dining area and bar as well as booths, that assure privacy for business meetings. Put together by Roger Hessing, Carl Ferns and Paolo Nonino, the new menu has global fare for the well-travelled like Ginger-scented Grouper Ceviche, which is served on a bed of radish; Porcini Mushrooms, Baked Grouper with Cauliflower Puree, Potato Cake in Grenoble Sauce; Duck Breast with Honey Oriental Glaze, and more.

The Mushroom Soup with Chicken Gnocchi was creamy and luscious. For the main course, my vegetarian companion tried the Couscous and Vegetable Capponata with Onion Confit, while I feasted on Grouper with Cauliflower Puree and Grenoble sauce with crispy carrots. The way the grouper was plated was a sheer work of art. And the fish was succulent, juicy and the taste was stupendous. For dessert, it was White Chocolate Mouse with Strawberry and Balsamico Salad, Dark Chocolate and Walnut brownies.

Where: Colonial, 11 Walton Road (above Cinnamon).
