It's where the law of the land is upheld. But it appears, even the Supreme Court cannot escape the long arms of crime. 
Two cases of theft have been reported from inside the premises in recent days. A police source said a water cooler installed near block no. 4 inside the Supreme Court campus has been stolen by unknown persons. A complaint in this regard was filed by RL Yadav, who is an Assistant Registrar (AG) of the court after which a case was lodged under section 380 with Tilak Marg police station last week.
"Yadav wrote to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Supreme Court, after which Tilak Marg police was informed. Cops will check the CCTV footage in this regard," said the source.
In another incident, an assistant to an advocate was caught for allegedly stealing a mobile phone belonging to a clerk working with the Supreme Court. The victim Ram Bahadur Chaupal had put his cell phone on the notice board outside court number 2. After sometime when he returned to the scene he found the handset missing. Ram Bahadur then complained to the police who lodged an FIR.
Cops scrutinised the CCTV footage and discovered a person stealing the cell phone The accused Jeet Singh. was arrested and the cell phone was recovered.
